The feud between Donald Trump and Elon Musk just escalated. As Musk fights back against explosive drug allegations with clean test results, Trump has labeled the billionaire a “big-time drug addict,” adding fuel to their already tense relationship.
Musk Rebuts Drug Allegations with Test Results
Elon Musk has taken a proactive approach to counter allegations of drug addiction by sharing his clean drug test results on social media. The test, conducted at Fastest Labs of South Austin on June 11, showed negative results for 22 substances, including fentanyl, ketamine, amphetamines, ecstasy, cocaine, and cannabis.
The billionaire entrepreneur released these results following a New York Times report that claimed he regularly used ketamine, psychedelics, and stimulants. Musk responded to the allegations with a simple “lol” while firmly stating, “I am NOT taking drugs! The New York Times was lying their ass off.”

Trump Administration Connections and Accusations
Reports from The Washington Post suggest that President Donald Trump referred to Musk as a “big-time drug addict” as their relationship deteriorated. This accusation came amid speculation that Musk’s alleged drug use might have impacted potential involvement with Trump’s administration.
Trump was recently asked about whether Musk had used recreational drugs in the White House, creating further controversy around the allegations. The president’s response neither confirmed nor denied the claims, leaving the question unanswered, while tensions between the two powerful figures appear to have eased somewhat.
Great idea. I hereby challenge the NYT and WSJ to take drug tests and publish the results!
They won’t, because those hypocrites are guilty as sin. https://t.co/Z6kf6sj2mS

Medical Context and Test Limitations
Musk has previously acknowledged using prescription ketamine for depression, but claims he hasn’t taken it since. “I tried *prescription* ketamine a few years ago and said so on X, so this is not even news. It helps for getting out of dark mental holes, but haven’t taken it since then,” Musk stated in response to the allegations.
Health experts note that urine drug tests typically detect substances used within the past week, leaving open the possibility that Musk could have temporarily abstained before testing. More comprehensive hair follicle tests would have provided evidence of drug use over a longer period, but Musk opted for the urine test, which has a shorter detection window.
The New York Times report claimed Musk’s ketamine use had affected his bladder and that he mixed it with other substances, including ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms. Ketamine is FDA-approved for treating anxiety, depression, and PTSD, though it can have harmful effects when used in high doses or combined with other drugs.
