Musk has previously acknowledged using prescription ketamine for depression, but claims he hasn’t taken it since. “I tried *prescription* ketamine a few years ago and said so on X, so this is not even news. Health experts note that urine drug tests typically detect substances used within the past week, leaving open the possibility that Musk could have temporarily abstained before testing. More comprehensive hair follicle tests would have provided evidence of drug use over a longer period, but Musk opted for the urine test, which has a shorter detection window.

The New York Times report claimed Musk’s ketamine use had affected his bladder and that he mixed it with other substances, including ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms.
