Populism Is A Governing Philosophy Jeff Flake

In Columns, Politics

Jeff Flake is doing his Custer’s Last Stand of Conservatism. He is hell bent on being one of the last of the Mohicans standing on Conservative Hill. Jeff stated on the Sunday shows this week, that Populism is not a governing philosophy, but rather it is just some sugar high the nation is going through. This self-unaware elitist is the kindling that fuels American Populism. So, on one hand, I encourage Jeff to continue his ineffective book tour. However, on the other hand, his misinformation campaign must be challenged.

Without going into a summation of the failed ideology of Conservatism and laying out a PowerPoint presentation on why it failed and where it collapsed, let’s talk about Populism. Jeff claimed it is not a governing philosophy. I am not sure why he said that. He has to know that is not true. But, for shits and giggles, let me lay out some of the tenants of Positive Populism in America and how we can govern ourselves with it.

Populism entails temporarily withdrawing from the world’s policeman status and spending money rebuilding our nation. It means an end to endless wars. It gets us the hell out of the Middle East once and for all! It does not make us isolationist to pause and patch up our own nation. That lie is put out there often, but nothing could be further from the truth. Populism puts an end to free trade and imposes fair trade. Conservatives hate that, but the workers don’t. Populism secures our borders and tightens up immigration law.

Populism does not attack the nation’s safety net but calls for funding it properly. That drives Conservatives batshit. So does the Populist axiom that we want Medicare for All and back a single payer health system. We believe healthcare is a right and not a privilege. In this, we are in agreement with our progressive friends on the other side. That is another governing philosophy of Populism, we want to work with the other side to get things done.

I can go on and on, but there is your basic start for Populist Governance, Senator Flake. Basically, it is the exact opposite of what you and your brethren have done to destroy our nation over decades now. Conservative stewardship has brought forth a nation where the rich keep getting richer and more and more of the middle class gets left behind. The educated elites among us have created a huge mess to clean up.

The Bankster bailouts of 2008 under Republican George W. Bush and his overall spending in the wrong areas laid waste the idea of conservatism. Jeff, I’m sorry you are going to be one of the last people to realize this. All I know is that the answer to fixing all of this is not to be more conservative. That would be as insane as your book tour. I look forward to your primary.
